Betheney Ann Baird, age 51, of Sumner, IL formerly of Farina, IL peacefully passed away at 1:00 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025 at her home. She was born on October 22, 1974 in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Melvin Ray "Butch" Butts and Terrie Ann (Hassebrock) Butts. On June 21, 2003 she married the love of her life, Matthew Baird at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, St. Peter, IL.

Survivors include her husband of twenty-two years, Matthew Baird of Sumner, IL; beloved son, Harrison Baird (girlfriend, Brooke) of Sumner, IL; mother, Terrie Ann Butts of Farina IL; brother, Allen Butts of Altamont, IL; mother-in-law, Bonnie Baird of Martinsville, IL; brother-in-law, Mitchell Baird (Beth) of Martinsville, IL; nephews and nieces, Wyatt Butts, Gracelin Butts, Gavin Baird, Korbin Baird and Harper Baird; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and many wonderful friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her father, Butch Butts; father-in-law, Don Baird; and sister-in-law, Kendra Butts.

Betheney was a 1992 graduate of South Central High School, Farina, IL. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor's in finance and accounting. Above all Betheney's greatest accomplishment was being a mom and homeschooling Harrison. She loved her family, cherishing every moment with them at home or at the track. Betheney always found beauty and joy in gardening with flowers and especially hostas. She faithfully attended St. Peter's Lutheran Church, St. Peter, IL and Lutheran Church Our Savior, Lawrenceville, IL.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Martinsville Bible Church with Pastor Tom Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in the Baird Cemetery, rural Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025 at the Martinsville Bible Church, 509 E. Ridgelawn Rd., Martinsville, IL.
