Betsabeth Asuncion Sebastianelli (Franco), 81, of Norfolk, MA and formerly of East Granby, CT, died peacefully on Thursday, May 8th.
Born August 15, 1943, in Peru, she was the daughter of Alonso and Andrea (Torres) Franco. She attended Catholic school in Peru and emigrated to the United States in 1962 where she pursued a clerical career in Hartford, CT. On February 11, 1967, she married Robert Sebastianelli, and together they raised two children, Robert and Jennifer in East Granby, CT. Betsy went on to become an administrative assistant in the Bursar department at the University of Hartford and enjoyed many years of working with university students, particularly helping international students. Outside of work, she enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends, and her life was centered around her Catholic faith. She was known for her culinary skills and her love for animals. Upon her retirement, she moved to Massachusetts to be closer to her grandchildren. In 2014, she moved to the Village at Rivers Edge where she and her dog Rosie became beloved members of the community.
Betsy was preceded in death by her husband Robert Sebastianelli, Sr., her six sisters, Carmen, Irene, Esther, Auristela, Evangelina and Marina, and her three brothers Alfonso, Arturo and Oscar Franco.
Betsy is survived by her daughter Jennifer Bogdanovitch of Wellesley, MA and her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Mary Sebastianelli of Chantilly, VA. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren: Sophia, Eva and Lydia Bogdanovitch and Joseph, Faustina, Veronica and Gianna Sebastianelli.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller Street, Medfield, MA from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass at St. Jude Catholic Church, 86 Main Street, Norfolk, MA at 11:30 AM.
