Betty June Adkison

Betty June Owen Adkison, 92, of Pensacola, Florida, beloved wife, mother, nanny and friend, stepped into Heaven on Monday, May 12, 2025, to live eternally. Betty was born on November 7, 1932, in Ponce de Leon, Florida, to Dennis Hershel and Pearl Etta Owen. She was the baby of 10. She married her childhood sweetheart, Joseph Ray Adkison, on June 27, 1952. She was a homemaker and owner of Adkison's Service Center. Betty was saved at a very young age. She rededicated her life at a revival and was rebaptized when she was 18 years old at First Baptist Church, Ponce de Leon Florida. Betty became a member of Olive Baptist Church in October, 1962.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ray Adkison and son, Timothy Mark Adkison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Zelona Smith, Verna Grundin, and Dorothy Adams; brothers, Doyce, Dallas, Eugene, Wayne, Richard Owen, and an unnamed baby brother. With her passing, this Owen circle is complete. Betty is survived by her daughter, Terri (Steve) Catches; sons, Jimmy (Robin), and Larry (Aisha) Adkison; five grandsons, Derek (Jenny) Catches, Daniel Catches, Colter (Patty) Adkison, Austin Adkison, and Dustin Adkison; two granddaughters, Shelby Adkison and Reanna Catches; 7 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren and many other relatives.
