Betty Albregts Obituary
Betty was born October 15, 1924 in Attica to the late Clarence and Lucille (Smith) Shuppert.
On August 12, 1942 she married Chester Albregts in Attica, IN. He preceded her in passing on July 6, 2012.
Betty was a 50-year member of Sigma Alpha of Alpha Sigma Sorority; she was an officer at the local and national levels. She was also a member of St. Elizabeth Auxiliary for many years. Betty was an avid and accomplished golfer. She had 5 Hole-In-Ones during her lifetime. She was a member of the Tippecanoe Country Club in Monticello, Elks Country Club, and the Royal Woods Country Club in Naples, Florida. She was a big sports fan; especially of the Cincinnati Reds and IU basketball.
Surviving are her children: Gwendolyn Gallagher of St. Augustine, FL, Robert (Sandy) Albregts of Fishers, Pamela Watts, and Christine (Brad Cook) Albregts-Cook both of Noblesville; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in passing by her husband, Chester.
Visitation will be held from 5pm – 7pm Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Hippensteel Funeral Home – 822 N 9th St. Lafayette, IN, 47904 with Rosary beginning at 4:30pm.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Funeral Mass that was scheduled for 10 am on Monday at St. Boniface will not be taking place, rather, the family invites friends to come to Hippensteel Funeral Home on Monday, July 17, 2023 at 11 am for a short gathering. To Betty's family,
I'm so sorry about your mom's death. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope your family memories will help you through this difficult time. I'm the oldest of Marvin & Lucy Yoder's children. We lived on the farm next to Bennetts Greenhouse on McCarty Lane and have fond memories of that neighborhood. I think I babysat with you as well as the children of Frannie & Leah and the Halsmers.
