Mrs. Betty Sue Mahaney Bryant age 79 of Ormond Beach, FL formerly of Jackson County, TN passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Advent Health in Orlando. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Gerald Bryant, Sr and their son, Kenneth Gerald (Kenny) Bryant III of Orlando, FL.
Mrs. Sue was the daughter of Ernest Lee Mahaney and Effie Lee Jones Mahaney. She grew up in the Flynn's Creek community of Jackson County, TN. Following her high school graduation from Jackson County, she began a longtime career with Metro Government in Nashville. She worked in the General Sessions Court System until she retired decades later. She worked for nine general sessions judges in the court system and provided daily assistance to attorneys and others within the legal system. She was well respected by judges, attorneys and co-workers. During her career, she completed a number of college and university courses to support her career.
Mrs. Sue is survived by three siblings, Bill Mahaney of Livingston, TN, Paul Mahaney of Ashland City, TN and Peggy Mahaney of Cookeville, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Miss Patsy Ann Mahaney and Jo Helen Mahaney White.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, 4 to 8 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 1 pm in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mahaney Family Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Mahaney Family Cemetery by contacting the funeral home.
