Nobles Funeral Home respectfully announces the passing of Mrs. Betty Jane Carter, aged 88, who peacefully departed this life on August 21, 2024, in Hilliard, Florida. Born on August 19, 1936, to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Beasley in Baxley, Georgia. Betty was a gentle soul whose life was a testament to her unwavering faith and love for her family, including her cherished husband, Lavelle, and their beloved children.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Jennie and Henry Beasley; her stepmother, Ada (Moody) Beasley; and her siblings Willard Shipes, Raymond Beasley, Joe Beasley, Vallie Beasley, Sam Beasley and Lucy Hutto.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Lavelle Carter; her children, Calvin Carter (Kathleen Marshall), Judy Cory (John), and Ron Carter (Judy); along with her grandchildren, Jason Cory, Jessica Daigle, and Clell Carter. Betty also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Anthony Amore, Jason William Cory (Wil), Sylus Cory, William Cory (Billy), Samual Cory, and Trenton Carter, each of whom brought joy to her life; a sister Maxine Branch; and a sister-in-law, Janet Beasley.
A funeral service to celebrate her remarkable life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at noon at Nobles Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Brother Shane Youmans. Interment will follow in the Carter Cemetery.
The family invites friends to gather for visitation one hour prior to the service at Nobles Funeral Home Chapel.
Serving as Active Pallbearers will include Calvin Carter, Ronnie Carter, John Cory, Billy Cory, Sylus Cory, and Brent Branch.
Honoring Mrs. Carter as Honorary pallbearers are the members of Asbury Church, Reverend Watson Moody, and Lake Carter.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Carter Cemetery Fund, addressed to Roy Williamson, 1423 Spring Branch Rd., Baxley, GA 31513.
