Betty Imogene Cozzens, 95, of Newark, Ohio died Thursday evening, January 22, 2026 at Flint Ridge Care Center in Newark.
Born October 17, 1930 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Morgan C. and Leanna (Henthorn) Reed. Betty was employed with, and retired from, Flint Ridge Care Center. Betty attended the Church of Christ and she enjoyed knitting.
Surviving is her son, James (Lana) Cozzens of Lowell, Ohio; daughter, Judy (Steve) Wicks of Pataskala, Ohio; daughter in-law, Darla Cozzens of Newark; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Bennett of Newark and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Cozzens, Jr. whom she married July 15, 1947 and who died February 28, 2022; two sons, Roger L. Cozzens and Ronald E. Cozzens; two brothers, Cecil Reed and Raymond Reed and a sister, Hazel Lauvray.
There will be no public calling hours or funeral services.
Mrs. Cozzens will be laid to rest in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
