It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and child of God. Betty passed away March 30, 2025, at the age of 92.
Betty was born on October 4, 1932, in Alamosa, Colorado to Leonard Moore and Nellie Moore (Doores). The youngest of seven, she grew up in Alamosa, Colorado, and at the age of 17 followed her sister and moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. Betty worked for an insurance company until she met her husband, Jim. They were married in Alamosa and soon moved to Denver to raise their family. Betty was a devoted mother that stayed home to raise their three children. She and her late husband Jim grew a successful home building business. Later in life she worked for other building companies as an office manager. She was a devoted member of St. Phillip & St. James Church in Denver, Colorado for over 66 years. After her husband‘s passing, she remained in Denver until 2021 at which time she moved back to Colorado Springs to be closer to family.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband James DeGrant, daughter Kathleen DeGrant, her parents, Leonard and Nellie, brothers Roy and Lloyd and sisters Faye, Dolores, Juanita and Leota.
She is survived by her son, Mike (Chris), daughter, Linda Winkler (Dennis), Grandchildren Sean, Micayla Downing (Justin), Lisa, Breanna and great grandchildren Carter, Lynnea and Leandrea.
Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2025, 11am, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood.
She will be laid to rest with her husband and daughter at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
