Betty Dicus, 82, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away on September 20, 2025. She was born on May 14, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, and was raised in Naperville, Illinois. After graduating from Naperville High School, Betty earned an Associate's Degree at her local community college. She later moved to Deerfield Beach, Florida, where she met her husband, John Dicus. Together they married and raised two sons. In 1980, the family settled in Fruitland Park, Florida. Betty went on to have a career with Walmart that spanned more than 30 years. In 1997, she returned to Port Charlotte to care for her father and remained there after his passing in 2001. In 2014, she moved back to Leesburg to be closer to her sons and their families. Betty enjoyed working in her yard and antiques. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Edith and Berwyn "Bob" Wohld, and her brother, Peter Wohld. She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Becky) Dicus and Robb (Janis) Dicus, her beloved grandchildren, Harrison, Emerson, Jacob, Allison, and Ryan Dicus, her sister-in-law Diane (Pete) Wohld and her nephews Mark (Sue) Wohld and Adam (Susan) Wohld. Her life was marked by her devotion to family, hard work, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her. Following a graveside service, Betty will be laid to rest at Shiloh Cemetery in Fruitland Park on September 24, 2025. Arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home of Leesburg, Florida.
