DODD, Betty Ann Arnold Betty Ann Arnold Dodd lived a devoted, loving, and faithful life. As the cherished only child of Harold and Eoline Arnold born on April 12, 1939, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, where she spent her idyllic childhood. After graduating from Sulphur Springs High School in 1957, Betty attended East Texas State University. During college, she was in the Tooanooa Social Club and graduated with a degree in Home Economics and a teaching certificate. At ETSU, Betty met John David Dodd, the love of her life, and they were married on August 19, 1962. Betty found her true calling as John's wife for over 63 years, Angela and David's mother, and an adored grandmother. She volunteered countless hours at her children's schools, church, civic organizations and boards, including The Civic League (49-year member) and Farmers Branch Woman's Club. Betty and John led a very active life and represented the community during John's terms as Mayor of Farmers Branch and a member of the Dallas ISD School Board. They also enjoyed traveling with friends and family and spending time at their Lake Elberta cottage. Betty passed away on January 26th. She is survived by her husband John, son David, daughter Angela Miller McConnell (Jim), grandchildren: Matthew Miller (Caroline), Nathan Miller, Andrew Miller (Ashley), Justin Dodd, Caroline Dodd, and six great grandchildren. Funeral service: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 16th at Christ United Methodist Church Farmers Branch and a reception will follow at Venue 1842.
