Betty M. Fritz

Betty M. (Hahn) Fritz, 94, of Orefield, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday December 18, 2025. She was the loving wife of Herman J. Fritz, and they celebrated 52 years of marriage before his passing in 2001. Betty and Herman were former members of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and current members of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Orefield.
Born in Allentown, Betty was the daughter of the late Oscar P. and Virginia H. (Trump) Hahn. Betty worked in the sewing trade for 40 years, and also was the owner and operator of a sewing factory in East Allentown, and a flower shop in Allentown until her retirement.
Betty was a Breast Cancer survivor. After retirement she didn't stay idle. She continued sewing dresses for TLC who distributed them to impoverished children on the Appalachia Mountains. She was a member of the Friendship club and made rosaries for St. Joe's, and crocheted blankets for different nursing homes.
Surviving Betty are her children: Bonnie wife of Frank Gimbel and their children Michael, Matthew and Mark, Bryan and his wife Linda and their children Melissa and Tony, and Janice wife of Scott Hillpot and their children Robert and Jenniffer. Additionally, she is survived by her nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and her sister Carol wife of Alex Maciorowski. Betty was preceded in death by her brothers LeRoy and David Hahn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday December 29, 2025, at 10:00am in St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield. A calling period will be held from 9:00-10:00am in the church prior to Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Betty's memory to the National Breast Cancer Society, care of the O'Donnell Funeral Home, 908 Hanover Ave. Allentown, PA 18109.
