Betty Goode Obituary
She was born June 18, 1946, in Lancaster, Kentucky to the late Mary Margaret "Nanny" McCalister and William Robert Leigh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James Cyrus Stringfield Jr., her brother, Robert Leigh, and sisters, Amelia Earl and Mary Frances Vest.
Betty was a faithful attendee of New Hope Baptist Church in Salvisa and deeply loved Jesus. Her life reflected her strong faith, kindness, and servant's heart, and she shared God's love with everyone she met.
She is survived by her children: Mary Beth (Doc) Goodlett, James Robert (Genny Preston) Stringfield, and Brian Matthew (Melissa) Stringfield; 11 grandchildren: Carissa (Dan) Smith, Phillip Goodlett, Kayla (Shayla) Fulton, Kayci (Josh) Bustle, Tamra (Brandon) Riggs, Josh (Denae) Cobb, Jered Cobb, Shelby Cobb, Dakota (Kami) Stringfield, Jacob Stringfield, and Elisha (Alisha) Stringfield; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Betty will be remembered for her unwavering faith, love for her family, and gentle spirit.
Visitation is 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday, December 18, 2025, at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 7:00 PM with Rebecca Hatton officiating.
W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
