Betty Gridley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rullman Hunger Funeral Home - Aurora on Jan. 19, 2026.
Heaven became a better place on January 16, 2026, when Betty Jean Gridley arrived in all her beauty and splendor. Anxious to receive her would have been her husband, Edwin, and her sons, Eddie and Tim.
Betty was born to Carl and Hildreth Shelton on December 16, 1930. She would go on to marry Edwin D. Gridley, son of Pryor and Alice Gridley, on June 18, 1949. They would go on to raise three boys, Eddie, Mike and Tim, affectionately known as Betty'sboys.
Ed and Betty would make their home in Franklin, Indiana. He as a service representative and she as a homemaker and mother. Ed was a car enthusiast, but no more than Betty. In 1974 they became 2 of the co-founding members of the Circle CIty Corvairs. In their middle age years, the club brought them a lot of joy and many friends. When Ed passed away in 2006, she thrust herself into the lives of her three sons and grandchildren. She was the best mother and grandmother anyone could ever ask for.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, her husband, two sons and two sisters Gaila and Bonnie. She leaves behind to mourn her loss; her son Mike (Arden), Granddaughters Kelly, Laurie, and Lindsey (Bryce). Great grandchildren Kindley, Beckham, and Kenzie. Sister Patsy Doerr, nieces and nephews BIll (Terry), Diane, David and Pam. Also special friends Steve and Cheryl Fricke.
Funeral Service will be held at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home 219 Mechanic Street Aurora, Indiana 47001 on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. followed by burial at Riverview Cemetery.

My fondest memories of Betty are the holiday dinners. She loved having her family together and she was a great cook. Also , I admired her love for her boys. They meant the world to her. I won´t forget her love for gardening or flowers either. Mike planted flowers and tomato plants at the Assisted Living Facility for which other residents were able to partake. I´m glad she is at peace now with Ed, Tim, and Eddie

Betty will forever be in our hearts. We will cherish the memories of being neighbors but even more than that as friends. Our grandchildren Lillian and Landon always asked out her and would go see her. My fondest memories of Betty was her appetite for Outback potato soup with extra bread, baby alligators from Long's bakery, and her Arby's and curly fries with a lot of horsey sauce. This is not a goodbye but will see you again.

Betty was loved by Dave and I. She was such a gentle and kind lady. Betty welcomed our son Bryce as well as us into the Gridley family. We enjoyed talking to Betty at family gatherings. She was very spunky and quick witted. We pray for all the Family. Love to you and rest in peace. You are in a special place with your other loved ones. Dave and Sandy New
