Betty L. Griner went home to the Lord on Monday, March 25, 2024.
Betty was born in Hahira, Georgia to Othar B. and Ila Wyatt on August 20, 1937.
Betty married the late Roma E. Griner on October 29, 1956, who preceded her in death in January of 1994.
Betty volunteered at Johnson Memorial Hospital for several years. She worked as a cook at the Masonic Home and Morning Pointe Assisted Living until her retirement in 2016. She then moved to Florida with her sister, Dolly. Betty loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and walking. Most of all, she loved the Lord and her dog, Jazz. The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center, especially Theresa Glenn.
Betty is survived by her children, Debbie Griner, Dolly Aldridge, Dawn (Rex) Kinnick of Greenwood, IN, Buddy (Stacy) Griner, and Kim (Jay) Hicks of Franklin, IN; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild; sister, Dolly Powers of Perry, FL; brother, Don Wyatt.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Susan Whitaker, who passed away in June of 2006.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 1:00pm at Jessen Funeral Home & Simple Cremation ~ Whiteland Chapel with visitation from 11:00am until the funeral hour. Betty will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana.
