Betty Ann Harkins, formerly known as Betty Ann Allen, was born in Gordon County, Georgia on February 2, 1931, the daughter of the late M.L. Allen and Minnie Lee Tate Allen. She peacefully passed away on October 20, 2023, at Gordon Health.

Betty's legacy will forever echo in the hearts of her loved ones and friends.

She grew up alongside her 4 sisters, Jimmie, Sue, Jan and Bobbie.

It was John L. 'Red' Harkins who captured Betty's heart and became her soulmate. In her own words, he was the love of her life. Their companionship proved to be an inspiration to all who knew them.

Betty Ann leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love and devotion within her surviving family and friends. She is celebrated by her sister Sue Smith and Bobbie Bearden.

Family was a cornerstone in Betty's life. She leaves behind her son Johnny Harkins and his wife Melea, as well as her daughter Angie Walraven and husband Ronnie. The love she had for her children extended to her step-grandson Ian Thomas, whom she adored dearly.

The joy of Betty's life came from being a grandmother to Jai Thurman and husband David, Kacee Walraven, and her great-grandchildren; Aiden, Oliver, Amelia, Owen & Lily. Her love for each of them knew no bounds, as she nurtured them with wisdom and warmth that will forever remain in their hearts.

As we bid farewell to Betty Ann Harkins, we celebrate her life; a life well-lived, filled with compassion and cherished memories. May her soul find eternal peace in the loving embrace of her Creator.

The service to celebrate Betty's life will be held Monday, October 23rd at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Bowman officiating. Music will be arranged by Michelle Nalley. Burial will follow beside her late husband, John L. (Red) Harkins at Fain Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 23rd at the funeral home between the hours of 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Betty Allen Harkins of Calhoun.
