Betty Lou Heitzman, 87, of Pilot Point, TX, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2025 in Richardson, TX. Betty was born May 13, 1938 in Dorchester, TX to Francis and Grace (Kraft) Bridges. She married Charles Edward Heitzman in Pilot Point, TX on June 25, 1955.
Betty loved God, family, sewing, and, of course, her special ladies that she met with once a week. Betty lived many years on the Heitzman farm where they raised two kids, peanuts, hay, and cattle. She was always ready to listen to anybody that just needed to be heard. The holidays will not be the same without her, as she always made them so special.
Betty is survived by her son, Rusty Heitzman and wife Sharon of Pilot Point, TX; three grandchildren, Wesley Heitzman, Casey Fabela and husband Erick, and Bryan Laskowski; two great-grandchildren, Adilynn Fabela and Kaysn Fabela; son-in-law, David Laskowski; brother, Jim Bridges of Pilot Point, TX; sister, Pat Hall of Sanger, TX; several nieces and nephews; and several special lady friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Grace; husband, Charles; daughter, Valerie Laskowski; brother, Mack Bridges; and two sisters, Judy Daniels and Linda Chambers.
Rosary with a visitation following will be held 6:30PM-8:00PM, Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, TX. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Pilot Point, TX with Fr. Jason Allan officiating. Interment will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery in Pilot Point, TX. Online condolences may be shared at www.slaymemorialfuneralhome.com.
Arrangements are under the direction of Terri Slay and Slay Memorial Funeral Center.
