We are sorry to hear about your mom. I will always hold a special place I my heart for her she was so kind and caring to me. I know she had been praying a lot for me lately with my health and I will never forget that. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Funny memory from some time in 1950s. Aunt Betty and Uncle Leonard and family were at our house for thanksgiving . She was helping my mom finish putting all the dishes out. Then disaster. My mom was already getting it prepared Somehow the turkey fell off the platter onto the floor. My mom who was a meticulously clean person looked to Aunt Betty and asked,"What are we going to do?" My mom was already for disposal. Aunt Betty, another very meticulous person, said "Don´t do that. I´ll tell you what we are going to do. We are going to pick up that turkey, wipe it off with a clean cloth and put it back on the plater and not speak of this situation to anyone." It was many years later when my mother told me that story. Through the years, when I heard people say "that woman is so clean , you could eat off her floor", I thought of my mother, Mabel Hockaday Godwin, (Aunt Mabel to some of you) I remembered this story and it always made me smile. I know all who knew her will miss her immensely. I certainly will. Sandie Godwin Weaver.
