“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” – 2 Corinthians 5:8
Ms. Betty Holding, age 94, peacefully received her change of address to Heaven on November 20, 2025. She was joyfully welcomed by those who awaited her: her parents, Luther and Rachel Dean; her beloved husband, Bobby Holding; her daughter, Kathy Holding; and her cherished granddaughters, Emily Mann and Alyssa Holding.
Betty was born on April 25, 1931, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She spent many dedicated years working in the Medical Records Department at Cook Children’s, where her commitment and diligence were admired by all who worked alongside her.
Betty was blessed with many gifts and passions. She loved painting, capturing beauty with gentle strokes of color. She also enjoyed reading, especially her treasured Tarzan books, which brought her joy and adventure throughout the years.
Betty was a faithful member of Saint Stephen’s Catholic Church in Weatherford.
Left in the caring hands of God are her children, Michael Holding and Susan Mann (Shawn Mann); her grandchildren, Adam Mann, Rebecca Mann, Hannah Oelhafen (spouse), Mary Mann, and Alexis Mathewson (Logan); and her great-grandchildren, Rowan Hill and Noah Mathewson. Her legacy of love, faith, and family will forever remain in their hearts.
