Betty Sue Holloman, 90, of Amarillo, TX passed away on May 23, 2024.
Word from the family will begin at 4:15 p.m., with visitation to follow until 6:00 pm., on Friday, May 31, 2024, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Betty was born in Clovis, NM on December 27, 1933, to Dewey and Kate Madera. She grew up in Clovis, graduating from Clovis High School. She married Bill Holloman on July 12, 1952, and had a son, Billy and a daughter, Kathy. She worked as a bookkeeper after graduating and then as the office manager for Medical Radiology Associates until her retirement. She then spent the next ten years RVing with her husband in Lake City, Colorado every summer where they formed close and lasting friendships with their fellow RVers that would continue through the rest of the year. In 2003 she moved with her husband to Amarillo, TX to be near her daughter and provide Alzheimer care for her husband. She made many new friends in the twenty years she lived in Amarillo. The last year of her life she lived in an apartment in the Assisted Living complex of The Craig.
She is survived by a son, Bill Holloman; a daughter, Kathy Nirgiotis; as well as grandsons, Chase and Joel Holloman, and Andy, Chris, and Jason Pace, and William Nirgiotis; and granddaughters, Tiffany Richardson, and Caitlin Nirgiotis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Holloman; brothers, Wendall and Wilmer Madera; and sister, Frances McFarland.
