Betty Kennedy Self Obituary
Born in Laurens on September 11, 1955, she was a daughter of Frank Charles and Betty JoAnne Thompson Kennedy. Betty Jo worked in retail and was a great homemaker.
She was a woman of the Baptist faith and had a very giving heart that was evident in her love for children, especially her own.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, James Self, Jr. (Tina) and Jason Self (Joy); grandchildren, Emalee Self, Ryan Self, Adrienne Self, Ashlee Bailey (Austin), Taylor Pickett (Jonathan), Haley Baker, Kendall Baker, and Buddy Baker; great grandchild, Darhyus Pickett; and brothers, F. Charles Kennedy, Jr. and John F. Kennedy.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at The Kennedy Mortuary.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. James Lamb with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The family will be at the home.
