January 24, 1953 - October 29, 2025
Rock Hill, South Carolina - Betty Ann (Phillips) Kent, age 72, of Rock Hill, SC, passed away at home on October 29, 2025. She was born on January 24, 1953, in Charlotte to the late John Eulon Phillips, Sr. and Joyce Justice Phillips.
After attending Charlotte schools, she earned a B.A. in English and Spanish education at UNC Charlotte. After many years of teaching, she earned a master's degree in library science from UNC Greensboro and became a librarian.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Harold Dean Kent III; her son, Phillip Harold Kent; her brother, John Eulon Phillips Jr.; and her niece, Elizabeth Marie Beardsley.
A service to celebrate the life of Betty A. Kent will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Episcopal Church of Our Savior, 144 Caldwell Street, Rock Hill, SC. Memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of Our Savior.
