Betty Jane Leebrick King, 85, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Jack S. King, Sr.
Betty was born on January 28, 1940, in Madison Heights, a daughter of the late Jennings Bryant Leebrick and Annie Bell Leebrick.
Throughout her life, she found joy in the little things, such as exploring flea markets and pawn shops, where she delighted in discovering trinkets and treasures, especially her beloved jewelry. Her nurturing spirit was evident in her deep love for caring for children.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy King Leonard and her husband, Wayne, of Appomattox; her son, Buzz King, Jr. and his wife, Kerian, of Rustburg; her grandchildren, Lyzzie King and her partner, Brett Tomlinson, Mary King, Jack King III, and Hailey Leonard; and her great-grandchildren, Leo and Lucas Tomlinson.
In addition to her cherished husband and parents, she was preceded in death by all of her brothers and sister.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM in Spring Hill Cemetery with Rev. Duane Gregory officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff and nurses of the Liberty Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care of Betty over the past two years.
