GERMANTOWN — Betty Jo Stevenson Mitchell, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, at the Hospice Care Center with her loving family by her side.
Betty was born on Dec. 31, 1937, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late Erie and Laura Virginia Conley Stevenson.
She was a head start teacher who also worked at Techno Trim for many years. She sold Avon with joy and pride and was a foster granny for Mason County Schools.
Survivors include her five children Steven (Janice) Mitchell, Randy (Patricia) Mitchell, Laura (the late John) Jefferson, Melanie (David) Woods, Timothy (Lynn) Mitchell; nine grandchildren Steven (Lee) Mitchell, Bethany (Jay) Alexander, Christopher (Kelly) Mitchell, Allison Woods, Rebecca (Kellie) Gelter, Cory (Shelby) Woods, Sarah Mitchell, Kathryn (Trevor) Muncy, Andrew (Katelyn) Jefferson; 12 great grandchildren Taelyn Woods, Caroline Alexander, Amelia Alexander, Elyse Woods, Collins Mitchell, Easton Woods, Remie Jefferson, Lily Muncy, Rylie Jefferson, Maria Gelter, Charleigh Gelter and Georgia Gelter; and her great-great-grandchild, Beckham Jones.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert "Smokey" Mitchell, whom she married Dec. 5, 1953; sisters Ruth Mitchell and Jessie McFarland; and son-in-law, Rev. John Jefferson.
Services for Betty Mitchell will be at 12 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at Crosspoint Community Church with Pastor Chad Current officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brell and Son Funeral Home.
