Betty Jean Mixon Skinner was born on February 27, 1930 and went to be with her Lord on April 5, 2025 at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her parents, R.G. Mixon and Irene Mixon; her loving husband of 67 years, Arlon Skinner; five sisters and three brothers.

She is survived by her three sons, Lonnie Skinner and wife Toni, Barry Skinner, and Richard Skinner and wife Susan; grandchildren, Nathan and wife Tacy, Rachael and husband Michael, Crista, and Micah and wife Amber. She was blessed to have seven great-grandchildren. She was thankful for her brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Betty was raised in Fisher, Louisiana and later the family moved to Cotton Valley, Louisiana. After marriage, Arlon and Betty settled in Oak Grove community where they raised their children and spent the remaining years of their lives. They were both very active in their church, Fellowship Baptist Church. Arlon served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher and Betty taught children’s Sunday School class for many years.

Betty loved her Lord, her family, her community and her church. She loved to laugh, play games, post appetizing recipes on Facebook, music, shopping, going on trips and having dinner with friends. She loved her poodles, Toby and Renee, and raised poodles for several years.

While Betty will be missed here, she is finally home in Heaven with Jesus and many loved ones. A very special Thank You to all her friends, family, and caregivers who helped her so much.
