Betty Wilson Morgan 79, of Stanfield passed peacefully with family at her side at Atrium Health Hospice House in Monroe on February 26, 2025.
Betty "Cookie" was born March 16, 1945, in Union County, NC to the late James Wilson and the late Tonnie Bell Reames Wilson.
She was preceded in her death by her first husband Brice (BJ) Cochran, Jr. and second husband the late Ollin Morgan.
Cookie came from a large family with seven siblings; Ann Blackwelder, Alice Wilson, Peggy Davis, Ricky Wilson were preceded in her death. Surviving siblings are Bennie Wilson (Cindy) of Locust, Robert Wilson and Terry W. Moore, Harrisburg, NC.
Cookie has 3 surviving children; Pam Smith (David) Mt. Gilead, NC, Tim Cochran (Tina), Fairview, NC, Jamie Morgan, Outer Banks, NC. Preceded in her death was Jimmy Morgan and Kim Morgan. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Cookie worked at Drum Manufacturing in Mint Hill and several years at American Hospital until she and late husband Ollin opened a business in Stanfield called "Morgan's Things Unusually" that specialized in antiques and used furniture. They also had several rental properties in Locust and Stanfield.
If she wasn't busy enough running the furniture store you might find her elbow deep in her flower garden at home or enjoying the sunshine at Holden Beach.
There will be a visitation Monday, March 3, 2025, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Hartsell Funeral Home, 13575 Broadway Avenue, Midland, NC.
Cookie has spent the last 6 years in the care of Olive Branch Family Care Home in Marshville. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, giving spirit and caring heart.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to the care team of Olive Branch for the special care they gave as her health continued to decline. The care team, residents and their families became Cookies extended family as well.
Cookies family would like to recognize the entire staff at Atrium Hospice of Union County and Atrium Hospice House for the compassionate care provided to her and our family during this difficult time of her passing.
