Betty Jo Murray, age 69 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at AdventHealth Gordon.
Betty was born on February 24, 1954, in Knot County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Harold Amburgey and Norma Gibson Amburgey. In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by: her two sons, Robert John Murray and John Madison Murray. Before her retirement, she was the owner and operator of Betty’s Starlight Market for over 12 years.
Betty is survived by: her husband, Benny R. Dotson of Calhoun; daughter, Melissa Murray; son, Michael Dotson, four grandchildren, Cody Murray, Ryland Murray, Sela Murray, and John M. Murray IV; one great-grandchild, Lynden Murray; four brothers, Jessie Breeding, Paschal Breeding, Richard Breeding, Israel Breeding; and three sisters, Faye Dotson, Mickey Hill, and Mae Bailey.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 3 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.
