Betty Joyce Pike

SWANTON - Betty Hutchins Pike, age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 12, 2024, with her family by her side.

Betty was one of four children born to Harry and Lillian (Lucia) Hutchins. Betty went to Alburgh High School and Burlington Business College. She later married the love of her life, Robert Pike Sr. of Isle LaMotte on January 20, 1951, and went on to raise four children. Betty lived in Swanton where she worked for many years at the Swanton Elementary School. Betty enjoyed making quilts, knitting, painting, and working in her garden.

Betty will be greatly missed by her family; Janet and Richard Getty of Rutland, VT, Judy and Patrick Lovejoy of Cape Coral, FL, Deborah and James Goslin of Cape Coral, FL, and Robert Pike II of Swanton, VT; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; sisters, Marguerite Mashtare and Diane Matozevich. She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Lillian Hutchins; her husband Robert Pike Sr., brother, Harry Hutchins Jr., and daughter-in-law, Penny Pike.

The family would like to thank the many friends and church family that reached out to Betty over the last several months. Also, a special thank you to the Villa Rehab, Our Lady of the Meadows, and the Northwestern Medical Center for their excellent care and compassion.

In respecting Betty's wishes, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
