Betty Pomphrey

SINKS GROVE, WV – Betty Pomphrey, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the Lewisburg Healthcare Center in Ronceverte, WV. Born March 11, 1935, in Sinks Grove, WV, she was the daughter of the late James and Minnie Weikle. Betty was a member of the Pickaway United Methodist Church. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Pomphrey; daughter, Julie Sweet; siblings, Frances Anderson, Thomas Weikle, James Weikle, Elsie McNeil, Edgar Weikle, Robert Weikle, Marie Price, and Donald Weikle.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Kim Jones and friend David Hoke; grandchildren, Missy Windon and Tom, Jenny Kaeb, Brad Jones and Angelina, Paul Sweet and Missy, and Jesse Morgan; 14 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, son-in-law, Cary Sweet; brother, Louie Weikle and wife Shirley of Princeton, WV; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice, Lewisburg Healthcare Center, and her caregivers, Pam Hensley, Paula Wygal, Juanita Plumley, and Nancy Orozco.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00PM on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the New Lebanon Cemetery in Pickaway, WV, with Tom Windon officiating.
