Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Betty Lott Putnam, 89, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, December 29, 2024, at First Methodist Church in West Monroe, Louisiana, with Rev. Chris Winterman and Rev. Jon Tellifero officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Calhoun, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 12:30 P.M. Sunday until service time.
Betty was born on February 24, 1935, to the parents of Lewis Eugene Lott and Ruby Stewart Lott. She was a graduate of Texas A&I at Kingsville, now Texas A&M, where she was a member of the cheerleading team, Who’s Who, and Delta Theta Sorority. While in college, Betty met the love of her life, William “Bill” Putnam. They eventually made their home in West Monroe, LA, and had five beautiful children.
Betty was a long-time member of First Methodist Church in West Monroe, Louisiana, where she was a member of the choir and taught Sunday School. She was also the Office Administrator at Jabar Corporation for many years. Betty enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends, tending to her garden, and spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Fritz.
Betty went to be with her heavenly father on December 25, 2024, at St. Francis Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Eugene Lott and Ruby Stewart Lott; husband, Mr. William “Bill” Putnam; and her daughter, Angie Putnam Bagley.
Survivors include her four sons, John Putnam and wife, Patricia, David Putnam and wife, Ramona, Randy Putnam and wife, Sylvia, and William Putnam and wife, Julie; grandchildren, Daniel Putnam (Amber), Tyler Putnam, Jamie Putnam Guillot, Katie Putnam, Betsy Putnam, Christina Bailes (Jay), Chloe Sonnier (Danyl), Jessica Putnam, Casey Freeman, Matylyn Bagley, Will Bagley, Chandler Putnam (Lauren), Gracie Putnam, and Parker Putnam; 10 Great Grandchildren and one on the way; Sister, Anna Joyce Murphy and her husband, Jim; and brother, Tommy Lott; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Shirley Gray.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Putnam, Tyler Putnam, Chandler Putnam, Parker Putnam, Jay Bailes, and Danyl Sonnier.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Timothy Lott, Brandon Lott, Robby Johnson, Jordan Guillot, and members of the First Methodist Choir.
Memorials may be made to the Louisiana United Methodist Children’s Home in Ruston, LA, or the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home in Monroe, LA.
