Betty Rease Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Funerals by T. S. Warden - Jacksonville on Jun. 5, 2025.
Betty Joyce Rease (Reeves) was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on June 7, 1947, to the union of Albert "AJ" Reeves and Rosa Hood Reeves of Sandersville, GA.
Betty was a member of the 1973 graduating class at Florida Community College at Jacksonville (now Florida State College at Jacksonville, or FSCJ). She attended Roffler School of Hair and Design, where she earned her cosmetology degree.
Betty was a dedicated member of St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church for over three decades, serving on the Usher Board 2, District 11, and as a member of Willing Workers for Christ Ministries. She was eager to participate in Sunday School class 2 and always believed that God was stirring up something new, something powerful, and something
life-changing.
Betty retired from the University of North Florida (UNF) after more than 30 years of service. She later started working at Springfield Middle School, formerly Kirby Smith and Andrew Robinson Elementary, where she was greatly loved and adored by the faculty and students at the time of her passing.
On Saturday, May 31, 2025, Betty heard the voice of God say, "Come unto me and rest, thy good and faithful servant. Your work here is done."
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert "AJ" and Rosa Reeves; brother, Albert Reeves; sister, Dorothy Reeves Jones; Special Aunts, Eula Mae Hood-Barney, and Mamie Hood-Anderson; and Special Uncle, Grady Reeves.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her five children whom she loved immensely: Carolyn Williams, Frankie "Booba" Daniels, Jr., Derrick Daniels, Warren "Punkin" Daniels, LaTonya "Young" Murray (Keith); 13 grandchildren: Travis "Bo"; Eunice, LaQuisha Eunice Glee (Jermaine), Ashley James, Cierra Young, Tarren Daniels, Tokia Daniels, Cina Daniels, Nikeya "Cornbread" Heath, Derrick Daniels, Jr., Drake Daniels, Morgan "Turtledove"; DeLoach, Keith Murray, Jr., Ke'Shaun Murray; 23 great-grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; nephews: Terrence Reeves (Adrian), Ron Reeves, Desmond Napoleon; nieces: Alicia Roland (Michael), Bonita Reeves, Sylvia LaVant (Pastor Kevin), Chakila Wright, Literia Reeves, April Reeves; sister-in-law: Genethel Reeves; special cousins: Bernice King, Annette Hayes; special friend: Carolyn Redding; a host of family, friends, church family, and co-workers.
