Wheeler & Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Homes - SpringvilleOur mother, Betty Louise Owens Reidhead, age 94, died on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in Spanish Fork, UT. Betty was born to James Howard Owens and Alberta Agatha Sancrant in Cuba, New Mexico, on June 2, 1931. She was the oldest of four children and the only girl. After her parents divorced, her family moved around a lot. When she was 15, her mother remarried, and three more children were added to the family. When she was 17 years old, she met and married our father, Clarence Glen Reidhead, on August 17, 1948, in Heber, AZ. Six children, three daughters and three sons were born to them. Mom and Dad were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple in April 1953.
Throughout most of her life, she enjoyed playing volleyball and softball. She was also involved with Young Women’s activities as a leader, sports coach, and camp director for many years. She attended school into her junior year of high school but after an accident where she sustained a head injury, she never went back. She had to quit to help with the family. She always wished she had gained her GED. She worked to support her family at various jobs. Then around 1963, she began working for her brother and sister-in-law in the Adair Tax Service, doing taxes for people. During her life, she served for over 30 years in the Young Women’s Program in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mother is survived by five of her six children: Bonnie (Dennie) Holyoak of Sierra Vista, Arizona; Allen (Marlene) of Springville, Utah; Robert (Maria) of Fillmore, Utah; Marlene (Jeff) Williams of Mesa, Arizona; and Dawn (Tim) Greenland of Hillsboro, Oregon; and a daughter in law, Marian Ferguson of Lehi, Utah; 31 grandchildren, 81 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three younger brothers, Monty (Mina-deceased) of Cortez, Colorado; David (Lynn) Mason of Mesa, Arizona; Ken (Connie) Mason of St. George, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Glen Reidhead, her son, Randy, her mother, Alberta Sancrant Meyers, her father James Howard Owens, two brothers, David (Big David) Owens, Dalton Owens, and a sister, Mary Jacqueline Mason White.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 12:00 noon, at the Linden Ward at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 971 Timberland Rd. in Linden, Arizona. Viewing will be at 10:00 am at the chapel. Burial will be in the Show Low Cemetery in Show Low, Arizona.
