Betty Jane Salati

Betty J. Doss was born on January 23, 1934, in Moundsville, West Virginia to doting parents, Walter and Mae (Hayes) Doss. During the Korean War she served her country honorably in the United States Air Force.

Betty married Louis Salati, and from this union was blessed with three children. She was known for her spirit and determination. Once she set her mind to something, she not only completed the task but did it well. After keeping her home and raising a beautiful family, Betty entered the work force taking a position as a clerk at Mercy Memorial Hospital/ Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital. Here she was employed for more than a decade.

Betty was compelled to strive for excellence in everything she did, from dancing to playing cards. An exceptional bowler, she often finished near the top in her league. Later in life, even when she had difficulty getting up off the couch, her bowling skills were unmatched as she blew away all her challengers at Nintendo Wii Bowling.

Betty enjoyed challenging her mind completing puzzles, going out to eat, and playing cards. She loved reading, with her interests being quite varied. Above all else, though, Betty's favorite way to spend her time was with family. She adored and thought the world of them.

Betty J. Salati, age 91, of Lambertville, Michigan passed away on Saturday; September 6, 2025, under the long-term care of Hickory Ridge of Temperance. Her passing was preceded by her parents and her three sisters: Mildred Hubbs, Ellen Fuller, and Mattie Doss.

To cherish her memory, Betty leaves three children: Luann (Jay) Brunella, Ben Salati, and Rosemary (John) Wall; a sister: Barbara Wallace; four grandchildren: JD, Adam, Melissa, and Eric; and eleven great grandchildren.

Her care was entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway; Monroe, Michigan 48161 (734) 241-7070. Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan, a division of Merkle Enterprises, Inc.
