Betty Keen Shearin, 78, passed away peacefully October 26, 2025. She was born March 10, 1947 to the late Bud and Ruby Keen. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her granddaughter Autumn Shearin; brother Johnny Keen; sister Judy Parker; brothers-in-law David Stone, Clifton Shearin, William Shearin; sisters-in-law Cathy Keen and Patsy Keen. Betty, more affectionately known as Granny may have been small in stature but those who knew her best saw how mighty she was. Though she dealt with declining health over the last few years, with the help of her family, she lived life to the fullest and never let this slow her down. She loved traveling, shopping, cooking and spending time with family. Her greatest joy in life came from her boys and being Granny to her grandchildren. This love was evident and will endure. These precious memories will carry us through until we meet again.
Betty is survived by her husband of 62 years, Mack Shearin; sons Donald Shearin, Kenneth Shearin and wife Doodle, Lynwood Shearin, Charles Shearin and wife Jessica; grandchildren Tyler Shearin(Aleena), India Shearin(AJ), Alex Shearin(Janie), Jensen Shearin, Summer Shearin(Tyler), Kaitlyn Harrell(Jacob), Jadon Shearin, Layla Shearin and Sammy Gandy; great grandchildren Gabby, Kamden, Kensley, Blair, Asher, Lyla and Kylie; brothers Richard Keen and wife Charlotte, David, Clyde and Dennis Keen; sister MaryAnn Stone and Connie Keen; sisters-in-law Nancy Thomas and husband Bill, Joanne Keen and Gail Shearin; brothers-in-law Richard Shearin, Claude Shearin and wife Ruby; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Gardner and Rev. Jerome Mozingo officiating. The visitation will be held at 1:30pm prior to the service.
