Betty Lee Smith

Betty Lee Smith, 89, of Batesville, departed this life on Saturday, October 18, 2025.  She was born in Batesville to Coy Platt and Leona House Platt on August 12, 1936.  She and Bobby A. Smith were married in 1955 and enjoyed over fifty-eight years of marriage until his death in 2013.

Betty was an LPN and a charter member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Southside. She enjoyed watching old love story movies. She loved reading her Bible.  In her earlier years she enjoyed cooking and some gardening. 

Betty is survived by her son, Nathan (Lynnett) Smith of Batesville; her brother, Charles L. (Skipper) Platt and his wife, Yolanda, of Little Rock; her grandchildren, Brad (Jessie) Covington, of Batesville, John (Ashley) Covington, of Batesville, Natalie Smith, of Batesville, and Nicole (Milus) Hughey, of Batesville; great grandchildren, Victoria, Ava, and Coy Covington, of Batesville, and Abrianna, Raelynn, Mylah, and Brennan Hughey, of Batesville. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby; and daughter and son-in law, Robin and Charles Covington.  

Graveside Service will be Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the Wyatt Cemetery with Bro. Brad Covington officiating.
