Betty Craven Smith, 91, of Pamplin passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Babcock Manor.
Born on August 2, 1934, in Ramseur, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late John Wiley Craven and Rosa Owen Craven. Betty loved antique hunting. She was a pediatric dental assistant for 40 years before working in public relations for the Greensboro super flea. In her youth Betty was a church pianist.
She is survived by her son, William Bray Smith, Jr.; grandson, Geoffrey Smith and wife, Gabrielle; five great-grandchildren, Caleb, Benjamin, Emilia, Gunner and Charlotte; and her long-time companion and friend, George F. Adams.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Buck Craven and John R. Craven, and sister, Sybil Craven.
