Betty Jo Spann, born on August 7, 1933, in Nashville, Tn, passed away on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2025, at Life Care Center in Columbia, with her son, Ronnie, at her side. A cherished member of her community, Betty dedicated her professional life as a sales associate at Levy's Clothing, where she built lasting relationships with many patrons and colleagues. Betty was not only known for her professionalism, but also for her immense dedication to her faith, being a devoted member of Pentecostal Church of Christ in Columbia. Her love for music was a significant part of her life; she enjoyed singing and writing songs, which brought her great joy and served as a means of expressing her love and creativity. She is survived by her sons Ronald " Ronnie " Spann and Randall " Randy " (Colleen) Spann, along with her loving brothers Jim (Janet) Henry and Don (Marlene) Henry. Betty's family also includes her cherished granddaughter, Alison (Eggy Lilley) Spann and cherished grandson, Nathan (Tangela) Spann. She treasured precious memories of her grandchildren. Betty was predeceased by her faithful husband, Oscar Spann, her father-in-law Hank Henry and her mother Mazelle " Momma Pete " Henry for whom she had boundless love and her grandmother who raised her from a small child, Elizabeth " Mammie " Ramsey. She boasted of having two wonderful mothers! One in Michigan and one in Tennessee. She inherited her loving nature from them both.
A visitation to honor Betty's life will take place on December 29, 2025, at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Franklin, Tennessee, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, concluding at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens.
Betty Jo Spann will be remembered not only for her legacy and contributions to her family and community, but also for the warmth she brought to those fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a world made brighter through her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. To have known Betty Jo… was to love her !! What an honor…she was allowed to celebrate CHRISTMAS in heaven with her Lord !!!
