Betty Stewart

LIMA - Betty L. Stewart, 97 of Lima, died January 19, 2026, at The Meadows of Delphos. She was born June 9, 1928, in Lima, to Charles M. and Mildred L. (Parker) Jones who preceded her in death.

On February 7, 1947, she married Robert E. Stewart who died April 15, 2017. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Virginia L Conrad and Helen M. Jones. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra L. Gratz of Celina, two sons, Michael D. (Iila) Stewart and Robert "Matt" (Rosemary) Stewart, both of Lima.

Her grandchildren include Shannon (Dave) Boudreau of Ocoee, FL, Stacy (Danny) Curry of Orlando, FL, Karolyn (Chad) Eversole of Lima, Kathryn (Brandon Link) Knowles of Grand Rapids, MI, Brian (Amy) Stewart, Lisa (Bob) Huff and Kyle (Michele) Stewart all of Lima; sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She started volunteering at Lima Memorial Hospital in 1967. Betty's greatest joy was the years she spent volunteering at Lima Memorial Hospital where she served as president of the Auxiliary. When she could no longer volunteer, her conversations often centered around her experience and memories of the people she met there. She served over forty plus years. She also worked, prior to that, at the Red Cross and Cancer Society of Lima.

Betty's visitation will be on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services. Her funeral service will be on Thursday, January 29, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., in the funeral home. There will also be visitation from 9:00 a.m., Thursday, prior to the service.
