Betty Elinor Strevig

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Elinor Strevig who left us peacefully on November 25, 2025. Born on January 15, 1929 in Smallwood, MD to Thomas B. Gist and Margaret E. Hughes, she lived a life of full strength, independence and unwavering commitment to her family, friends and community. She was predeceased be her devoted husband of 59 1/2 years, George Donald Strevig, her son, Allen E. Fields, and daughter-in-law, Rosalie Fields. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Disa Strevig, David and Jennifer Strevig; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa Strevig and Bryan Howard, Amy and Tim Dorsey, Lynn Black and partner Jason Grim and bonus daughter Barbara Farren. She was the proud Grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A self taught baker, Betty became known as "The Town Baker" in Westminster where she spent over 30 years crafting wedding cakes, birthday cakes and all sorts of baked goods that brought joy to so many. Betty was also a skilled crocheter, loved playing cards, and adored many beloved dogs over the years. She also loved spending her winters in the Florida Keys and traveling all over the country in her RV.

Rest in peace Betty, you were a force of nature and we are so grateful to have had you in our lives.

Interment will be private.
