Betty Sue Herndon Daniel, age 92, of Surrency passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 at her residence under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.
Mrs. Daniel was born July 27, 1933 in Appling County to the late John Herndon and the late Ruth Mann Herndon. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Sylvania and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed working in her yard, especially her roses, and watching birds and squirrels. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Daniel was preceded by her husband, Dr. Julian W. Daniel, sisters, Edith, Thel, Curt and Bud.
Survivors include her children, Julie (Ken) Howle of Darlington, SC and Jack Daniel of Surrency; and brother, Samp Herndon of Surrency. Six grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Free Will Baptist Church with Mr. Burney Riggs, nephew, officiating.
Interment will follow in Millen Cemetery in Millen, Georgia at 3:00 p.m.
Active pallbearers will be Zack Daniel, Jack McKenzie, Alex Howle, Alan Howle, Justin Dick, Josh McKenzie, Randy Herndon, and Kelly Herndon.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Memorial Free Will Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Hospice of South Georgia.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
