Betty Louise Swisher (Schurick), 83, of Indianapolis, IN entered rest February 24, 2026 at Westminster Community North, Indianapolis, IN.
She was born January 3, 1943 in Indianapolis, IN. Betty was the daughter of Christine (Kolegar / Schurick) Bruner and Arthur David Schurick.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Father, Half-Brother David Schurick, Half-Sister Janis (Schurick) Trogdlen, first husband Thomas W. Swisher and second husband Daniel Gibbs.
Betty is survived by her best companion in life, Dachshund, Ms. Sofie. She is also survived by Ron (First Cousin) and Pat (Stienstra) Speck, their family, Melissa McGinnis, Aidan and Ben McGinnis, all of Mount Holly, NC, Michael Speck of Simi Valley, CA and Gloria (Ruiz) Schurick of Indianapolis, IN.
Ms. Betty enjoyed an extremely close relationship with her long time extended personal friends, Maria Valdivia Mendoza, Ana Diaz Valdivia, Carlos Diaz - Valdivia and Luciano Diaz illescas. They made Betty happy!
All family and friends were important to Betty as she cherished time she spent with everyone. She enjoyed traveling across this beautiful world. She and her friend Sharon Kidwell went on many trips, via land and water as they shared their thoughts and ideas of life along the way during their adventures. While traveling Betty met several people who, until her illness, she stayed in contact with over the years.
Ms. Betty was never without work and her employers knew they had a dependable, conscientious employee. Companies she worked for were EAR Cabot Corporation (now 3M), Roche, Cisco, Papa Joes, Meridian Hills Catering and the IN BMV.
Her hobbies included, but not limited to, taking care of her home, flowers, yardwork, enjoying a good meal along with a libation of some kind and taking care of Sofie.
Betty L. Swisher was baptized Catholic, attended several churches over the years and most recently attended Saint Simon The Apostle Catholic Church and The Peoples Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Betty L. Swisher, c/o Richard A. Deering (6157 Benz Court, Indianapolis, IN 46236) for the Memory Care Activity Funds at Grand Brook Memory Care, Fishers IN and Independence Village Fishers East, Fishers IN.
