Betty L. Tankersley, age 94, passed away on February 28, 2026, at 4:34pm in Hot Springs.
She was born on October 31, 1931, in Hot Springs, AR, to Ernest Burke and Iva T. (Flowers) Burke.
Betty was a proud graduate of Cutter Morning Star High School. She loved her family, her dog Tinker, and friends. She also enjoyed Branson, playing piano music, rodeos, and taking care of her house and farm animals.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Claude H. Tankersley, to whom she married January 7, 1950; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Betty is survived by sons, Steve Tankersley and Stan Tankersley; son/dog, Tinker Tom; daughters-in-law, Teresa Tankersley and Gaylene Tankersley; grandchildren, Julie Tankersley, Tracy (Mike) Tankersley Tippit, Bryan (Kristine) Tankersley, Chuck Grissom, Tasha (Mike) McGhee and Zachary Clay; great grandchildren, Michael, Lathaniel, Tedero, Tristian, Haven, Konner, Kailynn, Keona, Keira, Konnor, Chloe, Caylee, Ethan, Caleb, and Maci; great-great grandchild, Lorelei; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.
Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Friday, March 6, 2026, at Oma Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Bryan Tankersley, Chuck Grissom, Tristian Tankersley, Konnor Tankersley, Michael Chapmond, Zachary Clay, Ethan Grissom, and Caleb Grissom.
Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Tippit, Lathaniel Credit, Marilyn Cristobal, Brian Gillespie, Arkansas Hospice and nurses Troy, Ashley Romo, Dr. Hunter Carrington, and staff at Lake Hamilton Family Medicine.
