Betty Ruth Thomas passed away November 3, 2025. She was born September 21, 1939, in Bono, Arkansas to Howard and Thelma Eldridge Poe; the eldest of five children.
Betty worked as a nurse in her younger years and was an accomplished seamstress. She retired from administrative work with the American Religious Town Hall after thirty years.
Betty was a lover of God, old hymns, beautiful swans, and lived for time spent with her husband Larry, her children, and grandchildren. Her often uttered words, “Come back as often as you can.” will never be forgotten.
Betty always let you know you were being prayed for and that you were loved.
She is survived by two daughters: Deborah Thomas of Mount Vernon, Texas and Dana (Fred) Marshall of Leesville, LA, four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers: James (Bud), and Jerry, and her devoted husband of seventy years, Larry.
A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00am on Thursday November 6, 2025, with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 am at Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home. Internment will follow at Woodland Park Cemetery.
