Betty J. Tobash, 95, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away peacefully Friday, July 14, at her residence.
Born April 15, 1928, in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Sadie (Boyer) and Howard Phillips.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, family was always the most important thing in her life. Her strength and compassion will be missed.
Betty was the widow of Stanley H. Tobash Sr.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.
She was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and was formerly employed as the North Manheim Twp. tax collector.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Stanley H. Tobash Jr.
Betty is survived by her son, Dr. Phillip Tobash, Pottsville; daughter-in-law, Heidi Tobash, Michigan; grandchildren, Kaitlin Tarconish, wife of Jeffrey, Sinking Spring, Collin Tobash, Frackville, Jairia Williams, wife of Thomas, Michigan, Allison Tobash, Schuylkill Haven, Michel Tobash, Michigan, and Christian Tobash, Washington, D.C.; many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Regina Phillips, Orwigsburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:15 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church. Interment will follow in St. Ambrose Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven. At the family's request, memorial donations may be forwarded to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741. To extend condolences to the family, visit www.gsesfuneralhomes.com.
