Betty Todd Obituary
Betty Newton Todd, 84, of Abbeville, wife of the late William Carter Todd, died Saturday, October 4, 2025 at her residence. She was born in Calhoun Falls, SC to the late Carl and Mattie Burns Whitman Newton.
A proud graduate of Calhoun Falls High School, class of 1959, Betty was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Her greatest joy came from her family, and she devoted her life to caring for her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Jimmy Newton and Carl Julian Newton.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Regina Lynn Todd, who resides at home; two sons, David J. Todd and his wife Becky of Abbeville, and John E. Todd and his wife Teresa of Bowman, Georgia; a brother Ricky Newton of Abbeville. Her legacy continues through her four grandchildren, Eddie, Stacy, Trish, and Isabella, as well as her eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3:00PM to 4:00PM on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday in the funeral home chapel at 4:00PM with Pastor John Todd officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
