Betty Sue Martin Troutt, a beloved member of the community, passed away on December 31, 2023, at the Westmoreland Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on July 31, 1934, in the Angeltown Community of Bethpage, TN,
to the late Walter Talmadge Martin and Carrie Belle (Wells) Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Leroy Troutt; Siblings, Ruby Anderson, Corinne Walker, Vernon Martin, Winona Martin, Louise Sherron, and Frank Martin.
She is survived by her children, Beth Rhoton and her husband Joe of Bethpage, Tony Troutt of Gallatin; grandchildren: Adam Troutt, Shanna Troutt, Rachel Hoover, Jennifer Ray and her husband Steven, Joey Rhoton, and his wife Jerrica; fourteen great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Nila Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her presence in their lives will be deeply missed, and their memories of her will forever be treasured.
While raising her family, Betty found joy in her hobbies and talents. One of her greatest passions was playing the piano, and she would often delight her family and friends with her beautiful music. Betty's creative spirit extended beyond her piano, as she also wrote captivating lyrics to songs that are still sung in today's gospel hymnals. Her legacy will live on through her musical contributions.
Betty also had a unique sense of humor and loved to share stories on Facebook about local history, families, and her memorable nursing home field trips. Her posts brought laughter and joy to the lives of those who followed her. Additionally, Betty was known in the community as a dedicated Avon representative in Gallatin, where she built lasting relationships with her customers.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Anderson Funeral Home on Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm for visitation. Another visitation will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 12:00 pm Noon until service time. The funeral service will take place on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Anderson Funeral Home at 2:00 pm to celebrate Betty's life and honor her memory with Bro. Jacob Sullivan officiating.
Following the service, Betty will be laid to rest at the Crestview Memory Gardens where Adam Troutt, Joey Rhoton, Steven Ray, John Walker, Tracy Martin, Kenneth Martin, Danny Martin, and Kevin Martin will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Troutt, Chris Green, Johnny Sullivan, and Gary Martin.
