Betty Vockroth Obituary

Betty was a graduate of Northside Blodgett High School. She married Richard W. Vockroth on October 8, 1960. He predeceased her on January 26, 2023. Betty worked as a secretary for Corning Glass Works for 30 years before her retirement in 1986. Betty and Dick enjoyed traveling together. Flying trips were a major family recreation, taking many trips along the east coast including to Ocean City Maryland, Florida, Bangor and Myrtle Beach. Betty will be remembered for her love of playing euchre - winning many tournaments over the years. She was also known to enjoy a good hotdog with meat sauce.
Betty is survived by her sons: William Vockroth and Larry (Kathy Clark) Ruggles; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by a young sister.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning, has been entrusted with Betty's arrangements.
