With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Betty, age 101, of Spicewood, Texas on February 23, 2026.
Betty was born on July 17, 1924, in Wichita Kansas to Fred Bobo Dudley and Olive James Cronin Dudley. She lived a long and beautiful life filled with devotion to her family, faith, and friends.
She is lovingly survived by her five children: Anne Weaver McClung; Kathy Weaver McCall; John Dudley Weaver (Carolyn); Charlie Francis Weaver; and Lisa Weaver Staton. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Bryan; Tammy; Nicole (Ryan); Leigh Ann; Stuart (Scott); Grant (Lauren); Abbey (Patton); Pierce; Blair; and Quinn; as well as her great-grandchildren: Dylan, Lily, Hayden, and Trent. And her comforter and protector dog, Rio.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Olive Dudley; her husband, Charles; and her lifelong best friend, Rita Fluellen.
Betty was the heart and center of our family. Nothing brought her more joy than gathering everyone together for holidays and birthdays. She was a devout Catholic and a faithful member of Queen of Angels Chapel. Her years at Saint Agnes Academy in Houston were among her fondest memories and remained close to her heart throughout her life.
Betty had a gift for friendship and made lasting connections wherever she went. She treasured time spent with those she loved and leaves behind a legacy of warmth, faith, kindness, and unwavering love.
Services to celebrate her wonderful life will be held according to Betty's wishes.
A Funeral mass was celebrated at Queen of Angels chapel in Spicewood on March 19, 2026. Betty was laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Bastrop March 20, 2026.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Hospice Austin for the compassionate care they provided. Their kindness and support were a great comfort to Betty and to all of us.
