Betty Weber Obituary

BETTY JEAN WEBER Betty Jean Weber (Lewis) passed peacefully at the West Branch Brook Assisted Living Facility on Saturday, November 15th, 2025. Betty was a strong woman. Born June 22, 1928, as Betty Jean Lewis in Vassar, Michigan, the youngest of five siblings. Unfortunately, her mother passed away when she was nine, so true to her personality, she assisted in raising her siblings. She graduated from Vassar High School in 1946 as a superstar runner in track and field, only to meet her future husband, William J. Weber, at a GMI Winter Gala while attending Baker College in Flint, Michigan. The mother of two boys, William R. and Mark D Weber, both of whom grew up in Flint, became professionals in skilled trades and in the medical field, respectively, and both eventually reside in West Branch, Michigan. As Betty always said, "The Great Depression and World War II greatly affected the way I view the seriousness of the world". She lived a hardworking, frugal lifestyle and placed great importance on family. Never would a dust particle lie for longer than a day in her house; she was an immaculate housekeeper. She worked for the Flint Board of Education as a secretary while her husband directed the now-defunct Buick City as a supervisor, being a mechanical engineer. In the summers, you would find her working in the flower gardens while listening to Ernie Harwell on her transistor radio. Mrs. Weber's favorite things to do were to shop, garden, clean, and watch Wide World of Sports and Bonanza while eating a cheese and pepperoni pizza, her only indulgence. Known for her dedication to the Methodist religion, she attended church regularly and would read the bible nightly. Her friends were mainly from church or work and stayed true to her until death. She will be missed by her two surviving children, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews who highly respected her for her dedication to family, and for her unbelievable holiday dinners, which are sorely missed by all. RIP Betty She is preceded in death by her parents, husband William J. Weber, two sisters, and two brothers. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
