Betty Vickery Whitten, age 89 of Greenbrier, TN passed away Saturday, November 9, 2025 at her residence with family by her side. Graveside services at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery will be announced when complete. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Betty was born in Nashville, TN on October 1, 1936 to the late Emory and Frances Jones Vickery. She was also preceded in death by husband, Thomas Perry Whitten and a brother, Buddy Vickery.
She was retired from the Metro Nashville Sheriff's office as a Payroll Clerk and was a member of the Elks Club. She loved her family very much and enjoyed shopping with girlfriends. She also loved making people happy and making them laugh. She was said to be the one to always light up the room when she walked in.
She is survived by daughter, Sherol (Jeff) Scarbrough; granddaughters, Jenna (Terry) Hudson, Whitney (Mark) Kieffner; grandchildren, Jase Warden, Jaden Warden, Mia Hudsons, Ledger Kieffner, Gray Kieffner; nephews, Kenny (Lisa) Vickery and Roger Vickery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Nashville Humane Society, 213 Oceola Ave., Nashville, TN 37209. Online condolences may be made at www.austinandbell.com.
