Betty Jean Gordon, age 93, of Clarksville, TN, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Walking Horse Meadows.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 24, 2024, from 4-7 PM at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be held at Harvey Cemetery in Cunningham, TN, with Brother Steve Kirby officiating.
Betty Jean Williams Gordon was born in Evansville, Indiana, on February 18, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Robert Taylor Williams and Ethel Mae Brown Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Gordon; also preceded in death by 6 brothers; Frank Williams, Thomas Williams, Charles Williams, Roy Williams, Joe Williams, and Kenneth Williams; 2 sisters; Juanita Neale, and Jereldine Gill; a granddaughter, Averi Faulk; and a great-grandson, Logan Wright.
She was a homemaker, who loved working in her garden and with her many flowers. She was a member of the Hilldale Church of Christ.
She leaves behind 4 children; Robert E. Gordon, Sr. of Greenville, TN, Linda E. (Kenny) Summers, Gloria G. (Eric) Snyder, both of Clarksville, TN, and Todd (Mandy) D. Gordon of Elkton, KY; 1 brother; Donald R. (Elizabeth) Williams of Erin, TN; 2 sister-in-law’s; Betsy Williams of Clarksville, TN, and Gladys Warren of Concord, NH; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Betty also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and many friends of whom she loved dearly.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and nurses of Walking Horse Meadows and Tennova Hospice for the great care and love shown our mother.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be sent to the Tuesday Morning Ladies Class Fuel Program of Hilldale Church of Christ, 501 Highway 76, Clarksville, TN 37043.
